What Do Telstra Business Mobile Plans Include?
Telstra business mobile plans are month-to-month plans for businesses with an ABN, with unlimited standard calls and texts in Australia. They run on Telstra’s full mobile network, and if you use up your data you’re slowed instead of charged extra.
You can add bundle plans to share data across more phones, which helps when some staff use a lot of data and others barely use any. Telstra’s own terms say business plans are for business use and need an ABN, ACN or ARBN, so have your business details ready. We’ll walk you through the current plan sizes and prices for your team.
| Your Team | What to Look At | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Sole trader, mostly calls and texts | A smaller business mobile plan | Low data use, so a big plan wastes money |
| 2–10 staff with mixed use | A main plan plus shared bundle plans | Heavy users share data with light users |
| Field staff, tradies and drivers | A mid or large plan on the full network | Coverage outside the city matters on site |
| Staff who need tablets or laptops online | A business data plan | Data-only SIMs for devices that don’t need calls |
💡 Why Network Coverage Matters for Business
Telstra has Australia’s largest mobile network. If your team works on building sites, farms, in the car or across regional Queensland, dropped calls cost you money. That’s the one place where paying a bit more for Telstra’s network usually pays off.
How Much Does Business NBN Cost?
Telstra’s business NBN plans start from $110 a month for 25Mbps, with fibre plans running from $125 to $175 a month. The right choice depends on your connection type and how many people use the internet at once.
| Telstra Business Plan | Speed | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Business Basic (bundle) | NBN 25/10 | $110 |
| Business Essential (bundle) | NBN 50/20 | $125 |
| Business Premium or Pro Fast | 100/40 (FTTN, FTTC, FTTB) or 250/100 (FTTP, HFC) | $125 |
| Pro Superfast | Fibre speeds | $145 |
| Pro Ultrafast | Fibre speeds, up to 1000Mbps | $175 |
| Business Essential (internet only) | NBN 50/20 | $110 |

⚠️ The Honest Take
Don’t buy the fastest plan by default. A small office of three or four people often does well on 50Mbps or 100Mbps. If you run cloud software, video calls, security cameras or a large team, faster fibre plans are worth it, but only if your address has fibre. Tell us how you work, and we’ll check what your premises can actually get.

What About 5G Business Internet and Backup?
5G business internet costs from $70 a month and needs no technician visit, so it’s useful for new, temporary or poorly served premises. Telstra’s 5G business plans run at $70 (25Mbps), $80 (50Mbps) and $95 (300Mbps) a month.
It can also work as backup. Telstra’s Smart Modem includes 4G backup on its bundle plans, so if the NBN drops out your internet can switch to mobile. For a shop that takes card payments, even an hour offline costs more than the backup does. Ask us what applies to the plan you choose.
Belong, Boost or Telstra: Which One Suits a Business?
For most businesses, Telstra’s business plans are the right fit. Belong and Boost are great value for households, but they’re built for personal use.
| Telstra Business | Belong | Boost | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Made for | Businesses (ABN or ACN) | Households | Households |
| Mobile | Business mobile plans with shared data | Personal SIM only plans | Prepaid, for personal use only |
| Internet | Business NBN and 5G | Home NBN plans | Mainly mobile |
| Network | Full Telstra network | Telstra wholesale network | Full Telstra network |
| Best for | Teams, staff phones and business internet | Low-cost personal plans | Personal prepaid with great coverage |
If you’re a sole trader with very light use, a personal plan can seem tempting, but check the terms. Boost’s prepaid terms say the service is for personal use only. For anything beyond that, a business plan gives you the right terms, shared data and support. See our pages on Belong and Boost for personal plans, or the Telstra plans page.
