📋 Why Choose Boost Through Mobile Connect?

  • The full Telstra network. Unlike Belong, ALDI and most Telstra-powered brands, which use the smaller wholesale network.
  • No lock-in. Boost is prepaid, so you recharge when you choose and stop whenever you like.
  • Data rollover and international inclusions on selected plans.
  • Local help. Two Brisbane stores, open seven days, with people who’ll explain it in plain English.

Which Boost Recharge Suits You?

All Boost plans include unlimited standard national talk and text. Data shown is the standard allowance per recharge, before any bonus data for new customers.

Visitors and short stays

7-Day Recharge

$14 / 7 days (6GB)

Handy for a week-long visit. If you’ll be here longer, a 28-day plan is much better value per gigabyte.

Very light users

Small 28-Day Plan

$28 / 28 days (8GB)

Fine for light use, but for $11 more the $39 plan gives you almost four times the data.

Regular streamers

$49 28-Day Plan

$49 / 28 days (45GB)

More room for video, hotspotting and heavy social media, with international inclusions.

Heavy users

$59 28-Day Plan

$59 / 28 days (55GB)

For people who work off their phone, game or share data with a laptop.

Set and forget for a year

12-Month Recharges

$300 or $365 / 12 months

$300 gives 240GB and $365 gives 365GB over a full year, about $25 or $30 a month. One payment, no recharging.

Standard allowances and prices after Boost’s 5 May 2026 changes, per Boost’s plan updates page and Finder’s Boost review. New customers often get bonus data on early recharges, and prices can change, so ask us what’s on today.

Not sure which recharge to start with?

Check your phone’s usage settings, then tell us the number. We’ll match it to the right recharge.

Which Boost Plan Is Actually the Best Value?

The $39 plan and the 12-month recharges give the best value, while the $14 and $28 plans cost the most per gigabyte. The cheapest recharge is often the most expensive way to buy data.

Boost PlanPriceStandard DataCost Per GB
7-day$146GB~$2.33
28-day$288GB~$3.50
28-day$3930GB~$1.30
28-day$4945GB~$1.09
28-day$5955GB~$1.07
12-month$300240GB~$1.25
12-month$365365GB~$1.00

⚠️ Skip the $28 Plan Unless You Use Very Little Data

The $28 plan costs about $3.50 a gigabyte, while the $39 plan costs about $1.30. If you use more than about 8GB a month, step up. If you rarely leave Wi-Fi and use less than that, we’ll tell you honestly that the small plan is enough.

Boost, Belong or Telstra: Which One Is Right for You?

The big difference is the network. Boost and Telstra use Telstra’s full network, while Belong uses the smaller wholesale network. Here’s how the three compare.

✅ Boost Suits You If

  • You drive or travel outside the cities
  • You want Telstra’s full coverage without Telstra’s price
  • You want no lock-in and control over what you spend
  • You call overseas and want international inclusions

💡 The Honest Take

Boost is prepaid, so it’s on you to recharge before your plan expires. If you forget, you can lose your rollover data. Auto recharge fixes that, and we can set it up with you. Support is mostly online too. If you want to see Telstra’s network for yourself first, check your address on Telstra’s coverage map.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Boost Mobile on the Telstra network?

Yes. Boost is the only provider other than Telstra itself that uses Telstra’s full mobile network. Belong, ALDI Mobile and most other Telstra-powered brands use the smaller wholesale network, which can mean weaker coverage in regional and remote areas.

Is Boost Mobile prepaid or postpaid?

Boost plans are prepaid. You pay upfront for a recharge, use it until it expires, then recharge again. There is no lock-in contract and no bill at the end of the month, which makes it easy to control your spending.

How much does Boost Mobile cost?

Boost recharges start at $14 for 7 days, with 28-day plans at $28, $39, $49 and $59, and 12-month plans at $300 (240GB) and $365 (365GB). Boost often adds bonus data for new customers, so ask us what is available today.

Which Boost plan is the best value?

The $39 28-day plan is the best starting point for most people. It gives about four times the data of the $28 plan for $11 more, and includes international inclusions. If you plan to stay for a year, the 12-month recharges cost less per month.

Does unused Boost data roll over?

Yes, on 28-day plans. Unused data rolls over to your next recharge if you recharge an eligible amount before your plan expires, so recharge before the expiry date. Auto recharge can do it for you.

Does Boost include international calls?

Yes. The $39 to $365 plans include international inclusions, such as calls to selected countries. The countries and minutes vary by plan, so ask us which plan suits the countries you call.

Is Boost better than Belong?

It depends on where you go. Boost uses Telstra’s full network, so it suits people who drive or travel outside the cities. Belong is usually cheaper and billed monthly, and suits people who mostly stay in metro areas. We will help you choose between them.

How do I get started with Boost at Mobile Connect?

Send us an enquiry or walk into Underwood Marketplace or Sunnybank Hills Shopping Town. Tell us how much data you use and we will recommend a plan, explain the cost and help you get connected. Bring photo ID such as a driver licence or passport.
